The aftermath series is a row of wallpapers based on the Winchester Journals, which can be found at the offcial WB Supernatural website. They deal with the time immediately after the fire. I hope this project will grow in numbers over time.

ThoughtsThis piece is about Dean and John dealing with their grief. The focal point of the piece is young Dean, cowering in the far room, his baseball stuff abandoned on the floor, withdrawn and grieving. I positioned him slightly off center but illuminated by an invisible light source in the faraway room, to draw the viewers eyes there although he is in the distance. To the left John is caught up in his own grief and to the right Dean finds comfort by protecting Sammy. While John is haunted by the memory of Mary's gruesome death, young Dean is haunted by the memory of their happy family. I went for a beige/brown/sepia colouring to emphasize the past/memory part.

NoteThis wallpaper is an illustration for one of my favourite SN fanfiction ficlets "The Sword And The Shield" by dolimir_k. It's a beautiful metaphor for the dynamics between Sam and Dean and for their overall role in the storyline and the imagery the author used resonates strongly with me, so I made it into this wall.
